In the framework of the implementation of the project “Public Security Team 2 – Partner for a safe community”, an information and awareness-raising activity was held with the students of “Dertliu” high school in Fier.
The activity was organized by “Epoka e Re” NGO in cooperation with the Fier Local Police Directorate, the Local Probation Service Office, the Free Legal Aid Office and the Regional Office of the Commissioner for Protection from Discrimination. The purpose of the activity was to inform and raise awareness of young people on the issues related to the involvement of youth in violation with the law, the importance of preventing negative phenomena, as well as strengthening cooperation between institutions and the school community.
During the meeting, representatives of the partner institutions presented the role and services they offer to citizens and young people in the city of Fier. Representatives of the State Police discussed the concept of community policing and the importance of cooperation with young people to increase security. Representatives of the Probation Service shared information on the legal consequences and the importance of rehabilitation and social reintegration of young people. In addition, the Free Legal Aid Office and the Regional Office of the Commissioner for Protection from Discrimination informed participants about the services and support mechanisms available to citizens.
The activity was organised in the form of an open conversation, where young people had the opportunity to share their thoughts, concerns and questions on security issues and challenges they face in the community.
This activity contributed to strengthening the dialogue between young people and local institutions, as well as raising awareness about the importance of prevention and civic responsibility.
