On 23 September 2026, the fourth Steering Committee meeting of the SCPA Programme was held, bringing together representatives of the State Police, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and partner institutions.
The meeting was co-chaired by Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Ms Anisa Ruseti, Director of the Department of Public Safety at the Albanian State Police Mr Dhimitraq Ziu, and Programme Manager at the Embassy of Sweden in Albania Ms Linda Gjermani.
The meeting reviewed the progress of the SCPA Programme during the reporting period and discussed key achievements in strengthening community policing, including the delivery of trainings, reform of statistical reporting, strengthening of Local Public Safety Councils, implementation of the Local Safety Measurement System, and approval of the School Safety Package. The importance of continued cooperation on the development of the new Public Safety Strategy 2027–2030 and on strengthening inter-institutional cooperation was also highlighted.
Recognising the many years of cooperation, the meeting emphasised the importance of ensuring that the results, knowledge and practices developed with the support of the Government of Sweden are fully absorbed and institutionalised within the State Police, ensuring that the achievements of the SCPA Programme are sustained and continue beyond the end of the assistance.
The meeting concluded with a discussion of activities planned for the upcoming period and a shared commitment to continued cooperation in support of more community-oriented policing and enhanced public safety.
