Grants’ Scheme Activity – Youth Crime Prevention – Fier

On April 17, 2026, an information and awareness-raising meeting on crime prevention among youth was held at the “Jovan Ndreko” Unified School in Libofsha.

This activity was carried out in the framework of the project “Public Safety Team 2 – Partner for a Safe Community”, part of the SCPA Program Grant Scheme, implemented by ‘Epoka e Re’ organization in cooperation with Fier Local Police Directorate.

The purpose of the activity was to inform and raise awareness among young people about the consequences of violating the law, as well as their and the community’s role in crime prevention.

The meeting was attended by representatives from the Fier Local Police Directorate, the Free Legal Aid Service, the Office of the Commissioner for Protection from Discrimination, the Community Policing Officer of Libofsha area, the school’s psychosocial service, as well as teachers and students from the community.

During the event, the most common forms of crime among youth, methods of prevention, and punitive measures were discussed. The roles of free legal aid services and of the Commissioner for Protection from Discrimination were also presented. The discussion also addressed ways of identifying cases at risk, the importance of cooperation between the school and the community, and procedures for reporting suspected cases.
