The SCPA program supports the development of the School Safety Package

Four ministries are joining forces to ensure a safer school environment for children—at school, on the way to school, and in the digital space.

As part of the presentation of the School Safety Package, a joint meeting was held at the “Ibrahim Rugova” High School in Kamëz, attended by representatives from institutions responsible for children’s safety, education, health, and well-being.

The School Safety Package is an inter-institutional initiative that unites the responsibilities and efforts of four ministries: the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. It aims to strengthen mechanisms for the prevention, early identification, referral, and handling of cases that compromise children’s safety and well-being.

Special attention is paid to ensuring student safety not only within school premises but also in the areas surrounding the school, during the commute to school, and in the digital environment. The SCPA Program, in collaboration with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and relevant institutions, has made a significant contribution through its expertise to the process of drafting the School Safety Package. This engagement is part of the Program’s ongoing support for strengthening community policing and inter-institutional cooperation, as well as enhancing the safety of children and youth.

This initiative aims to strengthen cooperation among institutions, schools, parents, and the community, establishing a coordinated and comprehensive approach to preventing and addressing issues related to school safety.
