On 12 October, 2026, the NGO “Unë, Gruaja” (“Me, the Woman”) held an information and awareness-raising event with students from the “3 Dëshmorët” Elementary & Middle School in Vlocisht, Maliq Municipality. The event was themed: “Youth Against Domestic Violence – Recognizing, Preventing, and Addressing It.”
Participants included students, representatives from the Child Protection Unit, the Local Coordinator Against Domestic Violence, teaching staff, and other institutional stakeholders.
The discussion covered the various forms of domestic violence, its consequences for individuals and families, and the importance of reporting such incidents and seeking assistance from the relevant authorities.
Special emphasis was placed on the role of youth in preventing violence, promoting healthy relationships, and fostering a culture rooted in mutual respect. Through these discussions, students were encouraged not to remain silent in the face of violence, to seek help when necessary, and to contribute to creating a safer environment within their schools, families, and communities.
The event was organized as part of the project “Preventing Domestic Violence Through Institutional Coordination,” which is supported under the second round of the Grant Scheme.
