The “Gender, Peace, Security” Association held an awareness-raising meeting on June 11, 2025 at the Katund i Ri Administrative Unit, Durres.
This meeting was attended by Community Policing Specialists, the social worker from the Needs Assessment and Case Referral Unit, the social administrator, representatives from the health and education sectors, as well as members of the community of this administrative unit.
The meeting served to discuss several issues related to domestic and gender-based violence – a reality that is still present, closely linked to the patriarchal mentality, the active role of the police in preventing and managing cases, public safety as a foundation for a peaceful life and a healthy community, and the impact of violence on children – from trauma to difficulties at school.
An important focus of the meeting was that of the inter-institutional cooperation and fostering of trust between citizens and the institutions that protect them.
This activity is organised in the framework of the project “Strengthening Cooperation and Interventions for the Prevention and Addressing of Domestic Violence and Gender-Based Violence through the Functioning of Local Mechanisms and Community Policing”, part of the SCPA Programme Grants’ Scheme.
