Awareness-Raising Event on 16 days of Activism against Gender Based Violence- Shkodra

An awareness-raising meeting with youth took place on 3rd December 2025 at the “Sherif Hoxha” high school in Koplik, Malësi e Madhe, by “Woman to Woman” organization in the framework of the SCPA Program Grants’ Scheme, and as part of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence Campaign. The activity aimed to provide students with a broader understanding of community policing and their role in increasing safety. During the meeting, first-year students were introduced to the principles of community policing and then worked in groups to analyze situations related to conflicts between youth,  school safety, online hate speech and perceptions of the police. They identified key actors for managing these situations and proposed concrete forms of cooperation between the school, parents, the police and the young people themselves.

The students’ reflections showed high engagement and awareness: some emphasized that small actions can bring real change in the community, others expressed that open communication makes it easier to find solutions, while some raised concerns that thoughtless comments online often aggravate the situation, underlining the need for education on online behavior. Students also expressed interest in practical training with the police and regular dialogue opportunities within the school.
