During May 2025 the Elbasan Women’s Forum organized two awareness meetings with students of the 9-year school “Ibrahim Muço”, Belsh within the framework of the project “Partnership between the State Police, local actors and the community regarding Domestic Violence and Gender-Based Violence, in the Elbasan Region”. The purpose of the awareness meetings is to increase information and raise awareness to young people on the phenomena of domestic violence and gender-based violence, civic safety, police-citizen partnership.
Activity from the Grant Scheme – Road Safety – Durres
On May 28th 2025, the awareness-raising activity “Road Safety Day” was held with the participation of dozens of students from the city’s schools at “Taulantia” Square in Durrës. The activity was organized by the Albanian Center for Family Development, in the framework of the project “Awareness and Engagement of Youth for Safety and Education”, part of the first round of the Grant Scheme. The students participated in a series of educational and interactive activities, such as simulations of traffic situations, scooter races, information corners and a simulation car. Through practical experience and discussions with road safety experts and representatives of the Durres Local Police Directorate, the young people reflected on the importance of safe and responsible behavior on the road. This activity served as a call for more care and respect for traffic rules, for a safer community for all.
Activity from the Grant Scheme – Public Safety – Elbasan
On May 19, 2025, the Association “ Another Vision’, in the framework of the project “PARTNER – Partnership for Action, Innovation, Technology, Awareness and Education for Public Safety”, organized in the premises of the Elbasan Local Police Directorate the first meeting of students from three schools in the city of Elbasan, the 9-year school “Sul Harri”, the high school “Arianiti” and the high school “Mahir Domi”. The activity was held under the motto “To know your city”, as part of the commitment to increase awareness on public safety and to strengthen cooperation between the community and the local police. Topics such as identifying high-risk areas in the city and analyzing their causes, strategies for avoiding risks, advice for personal and community safety, and strengthening partnerships with the Police, to build a sustainable and trusting relationship with the community, were discussed during the meeting.
Grant Scheme Activity – Road Safety for Children and Community Policing – Puka
During May 2025, the organization “The Northeastern Woman of Puka”, a grantee of 1st round of the Grant Scheme, in cooperation with the directorate and pedagogical staff of the “Sabah Sinani” Puka high school, worked with dedication to open the exhibition “Education and promotion of road safety in childhood, raises responsible citizens of tomorrow“, organized in the framework of the project “Road safety and community policing, in the Municipality of Puka. In this exhibition, which opened on May 26th 2025, the best works in graphics and handicrafts of high school students were presented, in which their feelings and perceptions regarding the initiative in the field of road traffic safety and cooperation with the police were expressed. Teachers and students as well as representatives of the local police participated in this activity and the best creations were awarded prizes.
Activity from the Grant Scheme – Domestic Violence – Durres
The organization “Gender, Peace, Security” organised on 27th May 2025, in the framework of the project “Strengthening Cooperation for the Prevention and Addressing of Domestic Violence”, the first meeting with the working groups established with representatives of local service-providing institutions in Durres and in the administrative units. Community Policing Officers (CPO), as well as social administrators, social workers of the Needs Assessment and Case Referral Unit, psychologists of Health Centers and employees of Child Protection Offices were part of this meeting. These meetings are important as they provide the opportunity for concrete discussions on the identified cases, but also the exchange of information for the most efficient management and addressing of their needs. Meetings with the working groups will also continue in the Manza area, including actors from the Sukth and Ishem administrative units.
Grant Scheme Activities – Road Safety for Children and Community Policing – Puka

Activity organized on May 22, 2025, with children from the preschool group at the 9-year school “Migjeni” in Puka. A great pleasure to work with and for the little ones. Activity organized by the organization “Unemployed Northeastern Woman”, in the framework of the project “Children’s road safety and community policing in the Municipality of Puka”.
Training of the General Patrol Officers and Command and Control Room Staff on Community Policing Implementation – Tirana Local Police Directorate
On 21-23 May 2025, General Patrol Officers and Command and Control Room personnel from Tirana Local Police Directorate participated in the training delivered by SCPA PMT in Police Commissariat No.1 premises. During this training the trainees were introduced to both theoretical and practical exercises and group work by focusing on CP philosophy and implementation of its elements into the daily routine of ASP officers. In addition, they were presented with situations/practical exercises to be handled with and solved by them as they work in groups with the aim of providing measures to be taken proactively in order to implement the CP elements. In order to provide a comprehensive training module on CP SCPA cooperated with CVE, whose experts provided interactive lecturing on Countering Violent Extremism. Best EU practices on CP philosophy implementation were shared with the ASP officers. At the end of such training the ASP officers are able to enhance their knowledge and capacities on implementation of CP.
Activity from the Grant Scheme – Domestic Violence and Human Rights
The “Gender, Peace and Security” Association organized, on 22nd May 2025, an awareness-raising meeting with the community of the Spitalla and Porto – Romano, Durres. Domestic and gender-based violence, security, providing public order, human rights and citizens’ involvement were some of the issues brought to attention during the meeting. The zone Community Policing Officer, the Health Center Psychologist, as well as representatives of the community center that provides services to the community were part of this meeting. The meeting served to familiarize with the service-providing structures in the area, as well as to increase the trust and cooperation of the community with these institutions in addressing the cases and needs of victims of violence. This meeting was held in the framework of the project “Strengthening Cooperation and Interventions for the Prevention and Addressing of Domestic Violence”, the implementation of which is supported by the Program’s Grant Scheme.
Activity from the Grant Scheme – Community Policing Strategy– Fushe Arrez
On May 20th, 2025, the Association “Social Center for Helping People in Need” (QSNNN) Fushë-Arrëz, a grantee of 1st round of the Grant Scheme, in the framework of the Project “Trust: Together we act for the safety of our community!” organized a meeting at the 9-year school of Qebik in Fushe-Arrez. This activity was organised with the participation of students and school staff as well as representatives of the State Police. The main goal of this meeting was to raise awareness and strengthen students’ trust in the police, by promoting dialogue and partnership between them with the aim of improving community safety and raising awareness about the role of the police in society and preventing extreme cases of violence in the Blerim Administrative Unit.
Activity from the Grant Scheme – Community Policing Strategy– Fushe Arrez
On May 6 and 19, 2025, the Association “Social Center for Helping People in Need” (QSNNN) Fushë-Arrëz, organized the first and second round of consultation on the ‘Community Policing Strategy’ as part of the coordination, support and consultation activities for the drafting of the strategy for the introduction and implementation of the community policing philosophy within the framework of the Project “Trust: together we act for the safety of our community!”. This activity was held with the participation of representatives from local institutions, social services, the Fushë-Arrëz Health Center, and other local stakeholders, as well as representatives from the State Police, civil society, the Multifunctional Community Center, etc. The main goal of these meetings is to promote cooperation and consultations between service providers and local stakeholders for the development and implementation of the Community Policing Strategy, aiming to include all stakeholders in the process and improving the safety and well-being of the community in Fushë-Arrëz.
