In the framework of the project “Strengthening Local Mechanisms for Improving Cooperation and Public Safety in Durres Region”, a workshop was organized on June 26, 2025, at the premises of the Durres Local Police Directorate, with security officers from schools of Durres, Shijak and Kavaja and representatives from the Durres Police Directorate.
The meeting aimed to discuss current practices and protocols and identify ways to improve communication and response mechanisms in situations related to student safety. The importance of strengthening the role of the security officer as a bridge of cooperation between the school, the State Police and the community was emphasized, and the drafting of an action plan was proposed that will support officers with practical training, simulations, exchange of experiences and drafting protocols for managing cases of bullying, crises, and problematic behaviors. A particular aspect of this commitment is building a positive relationship between security officers and students, through open meetings and awareness-raising activities.
