On 16 September 2026, the closing event for the project “Public Safety Team 2 – Partners for a Safe Community”—part of the Grant Scheme and implemented in cooperation with the Fier Local Police Directorate—took place in Divjaka.
The event brought together key stakeholders involved in the project’s implementation, including representatives from local institutions, the police, the education sector, justice bodies, and the community. The meeting focused on school safety and the prevention of youth crime, identified as priority issues during the project’s activities. Participants reflected on the project’s achievements, the challenges encountered during implementation, and the outcomes of the collaboration between institutions and the community. Discussions also centered on measures taken to enhance school safety, the timely identification and referral of problematic cases, the involvement of parents and young people, and the need for improved inter-institutional coordination. A significant part of the discussion was dedicated to opportunities for continued cooperation beyond the project’s conclusion, aiming to ensure the sustainability of the results achieved and to further strengthen local mechanisms for community safety collaboration.
In conclusion, the importance of a joint, preventive approach was emphasized, wherein education, information, sport, social inclusion, and ongoing cooperation among institutions, families, and the community serve as concrete tools for creating a safer environment for children and youth.
